Heather Jia
Heather comes from Shenyang, capital of Liaoning Province in the Northeast of China. She graduated in Clinical Medicine from the China Medical University of Shenyang in 1995.
She had studied Office Management since she came to Ireland in 1998. After she finished her course, she started working in a travel agent as a travel consultant, specialising in Irish travel to China by tour and business groups.
As part of her role as senior consultant she successfully organised and escorted different sized Irish groups to China in past six year as tour leaner and guide. She consolidated and widened her understanding of Irish culture and of the many similarities between Irish and Chinese cultures during those years.
She is a founder member of the ACPI since 2003, The Association of Chinese Professional in Ireland which aims to assist Chinese professionals integrate successfully into Irish society.
In her spare times she works in a voluntary capacity for the Jesuit Refugee Service Ireland. She has translated the 2008 JRS booklet ‘Your Child and School in Ireland’ into Mandarin Chinese. She has also, in a voluntary capacity; assisted local schools in Dublin translate their documents into Chinese for the growing student Chinese population.
Heather brings administrative, linguistic, analytical, logistic and networking skills to Chinaportal Ltd.
